New Running Gear for the Trailer!

The trusty old team box trailer gained some more new parts today with the addition of some new bearings, hubs, wheels and tyres to ensure a reliable future for transporting our team karts and greenpower car to events throughout the next season. The new bearings can be seen here being fitted by Zach and were supplied by Tamar Towing centre. Zach has learnt about taper roller bearings and now knows how to adjust them correctly when you assemble them. We have put some new grease in the hubs to ensure that they stay in good condition whilst in use.

Thanks to the good weather over the last week or so, we have also been able to complete some more of the paintwork renovations and also started to re-assemble the parts of the trailer so it can be put back into service. Some repairs to the blistering paint along the front, and the careful painting of silver hammerite along some of the steel angle sections has made the trailer much more attractive and should hopefully keep out the rust for the time being!
